The
Statue of Unity is a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the leader of the
Indian independence movement. With a height of 182 meters (597 ft), the
monument is the tallest statue in the world. It was inaugurated on October 31,
2018, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The statue is
located 3.2 km opposite the Narmada Dam on a river island called Sadhu Bet near
Rajpipla in Gujarat.

monument covers an area of over 20,000 square meters with its surroundings
