Gujarat Vahali Dikri Yojana 2026: Complete Guide, Benefits & Application Process : The Vahali Dikri Yojana (Dear Daughter Scheme) is a flagship welfare initiative launched by the Government of Gujarat through its Women & Child Development Department (WCD). Designed to empower the girl child, this Socio-economic scheme tackles crucial social issues like female foeticide, unfavorable sex ratios, child marriage, and high school dropout rates among girls. 



Under this scheme, the state government provides total financial assistance of 1,10,000 distributed across three milestone stages of a girl's upbringing and education. 

Objectives of the Scheme :
  • Promote Gender Equality : To improve the birth rate of female children and improve the overall gender ratio in Gujarat.
  • Support Education : To reduce school dropout rates by funding critical educational transitions.
  • Prevent child Marriage : To protect girls from early marriages by securing a major lump sum payout that is only accessible after they reach the legal age of 18.
Financial Assistance Breakdown:

The total cash incentive of 1,10,000 is disbursed directly into the beneficiary's bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in three distinct installments.

Eligibility Criteria :

To register for the Vahli Dikri Yojana, Families must fulfill the following state-mandated criteria.
  1. Residency : The applicant's family must be permanent residents of Gujarat.
  2. Birth Date Cut-off : The Benefit applies to girl children born on or after August 2, 2019.
  3. Family Limitation : The financial aid is limited to the first two surviving daughters of a family.
  4. Income Ciling : The combined annual income of the parents (husband and wife) must ont exceed 2,00,000 Per annum.
  5. Age of Mother : At the time of the daughter's birth, the mother's age must be 18 years or older. 
Required Documents For Applicaton :

Applicants need to attach copies of the following documents to prevent rejection during the screening process :
  • Identity Proof : Aadhaar Card of the girl child (if available) alongside parents's Aadhaar cards.
  • Birth Certificate : Official birth certificate of the firl child issued by a competent authority.
  • Income Certificate : An official income certificate proving family earnings are below 2 Lakh per year. 
  • Domicile / Residence Proof : Electricity bill, Ration Card, or Domicile Certificate of Gujarat.
  • Bank Passbook : First page of the bank passbook showing the account number and IFSC Code (linked with Aadhaar).
  • Affidavit / Declaration : A signed self-declaration form affirming that ahe is the first or second daughter in the household.
  • Photographhs: Passport-sized photographs of the girl child and parents.
How to Apply (Step-by-step) :

The registration mode for this scheme is canducted primarily offine through regional grassroot centers:
  1. Procure the Form: collect the official Vahali Dikri Yojana application form free of cost from your inarest Anganwadi Kendra, Gram Panchayat (via the VCE), Taluka Mamlatdar Office, or Download it from the official WCD Gujarat Portal.
  2. Fill Details: Carefully fill out the applicant's Details, parental details, and active bank account credentials.
  3. Attach Documents: Securely attach all the necessary documents listed in the required section.
  4. Submission: Submit the complied physical form to your local anganwadi worker or the District Women and Child officer.
  5. Verification & Disbursal : The department's desk verification takes place. once cleared, a selection list is issued, and the installment sums are systematically transferred through the life insurance corporation (LIC) of India, acting as the fund management partner.
