1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold
one of the following qualifications from a government-recognized university or
board:
- Degree Holders: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or
Technology (excluding Civil Engineering).
- Diploma Holders: A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (excluding Civil Engineering) AND
approximately 2 years of practical experience as a technical worker
in Government, Government Undertakings, or a registered industrial
organization.
- Eligible Branches Include: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics,
Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Automobile, Chemical,
Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Plastic, Rubber, Textile, Printing,
etc.
2. Basic Requirements
- Age Limit:
Minimum 18 years and Maximum 35 years (as of June 20, 2026). Standard age
relaxations apply for reserved categories, females, and PwD candidates up to a
maximum cap of 45 years.
- Computer Literacy: Basic knowledge of computer operations as prescribed by the
State Government.
- Language:
Proficiency in Gujarati, Hindi, or both.
Application Fee
The registration fee must
be paid online via the secure payment gateway on the OJAS website:
- General (Unreserved) Category: ₹500/- (plus transition charges)
- Reserved Categories (EWS, SEBC,
SC, ST, Female, PH, Ex-Servicemen): ₹400/- (plus transition charges)
Note: The application fee is fully refundable to all
candidates who successfully appear for the preliminary written examination.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Selection will be
strictly merit-based, evaluated through a competitive written examination
(which may be conducted via OMR or Computer-Based Recruitment Test - CBRT
mode).
- The exam spans 3 hours (180 minutes) for a total of 210 marks, structured into two key sections:
- Part-A: General Subjects (90 Marks)
- Reasoning Ability and Data Interpretation: 30 Marks
- Mathematical Ability: 30 Marks
- Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Language Comprehension: 30 Marks
- Part-B: Technical Subjects (120 Marks)
- Questions targeting core engineering concepts and practical applications: 120 Marks
- Caution: There is a negative marking of 0.25 (1/4) for every incorrect answer. Candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks individually in both Part-A and Part-B to qualify for final selection.
Selected candidates
will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹40,800/- for the
first 5 years of probation. Upon satisfactory completion of the
probationary period, candidates will be regularized into the standard pay scale
(₹29,200 – ₹92,300, Level 5) along with regular
allowances.
